The Advantages of the Dome Architectural Form: For maximum transmission of radiant energy, the ideal architectural form for a greenhouse is the hemispherical dome. The angle of incidence and the orientation are perfect at all hours of the day and at all seasons of the year.
A greenhouse with sidewalls at an angle of 60 to 70 degrees from the horizontal and a roof with a slope of 30 degrees has been found to be more efficient for the transmission of radiant energy than a structure with the same roof sloe but with vertical sidewalls. During midwinter when the sun is relatively low above the horizon, the slanted sidewalls transmit more radiant energy than the vertical sidewalls. This greenhouse model was designed with this feature in mind.
Constructed from durable Gro-Tec material: UV resistant and features rip stop protection. Diffuses or scatters light; letting 75% of light in. Diffused light benefits plants both by reducing excess light on upper leaves and by increasing the amount of light reflected onto the lower leaves.
